2 years agoAfter the New York Giants didn't address the running back position until the fifth round of last week's NFL draft when they took Eric Gray 172nd overall out of the University of Oklahoma, ESPN New York's Jordan Raanan writes that it's more certain than ever that Saquon Barkley will play for the team in 2023, whether it's on a new contract or not. The Giants and Barkley are expected to "reconvene" this week to see if it makes sense to reopen negotiations on a new deal. In the meantime, Barkley is staying away from offseason workouts and hasn't signed his franchise tag. It remains to be seen if the two sides will be able to work out a long-term extension, but regardless, Barkley will be a high-end RB1 after his big season in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
