2 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley engaged in long-term extension talks with the team during last week's bye, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. While they couldn't quite reach an agreement, Rapoport writes that the team "made a good run at" making Barkley one of the highest-paid running backs. Previously, general manager Joe Schoen made it clear that the team would only discuss extensions during their bye week, so it can be assumed that talks have been paused and will pick back up in the offseason. The former No. 2 pick has been incredible this season, racking up 779 rushing yards, 189 receiving yards, and five total touchdowns.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
