San Francisco 49ers D/ST Outside Of Top-10 In Week 16
12 months agoThe San Francisco 49ers D/ST scored its first touchdown of the season in a Week 15 45-29 victory over the Cardinals in Arizona. The first-quarter pick-six from Charvarius Ward was supplemented by three sacks and a second Ward interception. It was the fifth time this season that San Francisco's defense surpassed 10 fantasy points. In a surprising turn, the 29 points that Arizona scored was the second-highest total the Niners' defense has given up all season. The matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night is a tough one. Baltimore's offense is fourth in the NFL at 24.7 points scored per game. The Ravens do a good job of taking care of the football with only 16 giveaways on the year, which is tied for eighth-best. The Ravens have been near league-average in sacks allowed at 34. Worth noting is that DE Arik Armstead (foot, knee) will miss his second consecutive game and NT Javon Hargrave (hamstring) remains questionable, which could make handling the No.1 rated rushing attack in the NFL that much harder. San Francisco's D/ST is startable this week, but other options may be worth considering.
