Kim Jones of the NFL network speculated Monday that New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who has been taking all the first-team repetitions in practice, will start Thursday's preseason tilt against the Redskins. Darnold flashed all the signs of a potential franchise quarterback in his first preseason showing against the Falcons, completing 13 of his 18 passes, including one for a touchdown. While this is positive news for the rookie, it comes as a bit of a dark cloud on what was also a solid performance from teammate Teddy Bridgewater, whose showing against the Falcons was strong as well. While Bridgewater remains a trade candidate, target Darnold early in your dynasty league drafts as the first rookie quarterback off the board. Bridgewater's value will remain at a stand-still until his role becomes clearer, which will likely not be in New York.--Justin Friel
