Saivion Smith In The Concussion Protocol
2 years agoDetroit Lions cornerback Saivion Smith (concussion), who was taken to a local hospital in New England on Sunday for a neck injury, later flew back with the team and is in the concussion protocol, according to a source. Smith was taken off the field in an ambulance in the Week 5 loss to the Patriots, but the good news is that he's not dealing with any structural damage to his neck. The 24-year-old has only played two defensive snaps for the Lions so far this season, with both coming on Sunday against the Patriots. The Lions are heading into their bye in Week 6, but it remains to be seen if Smith will be available to play in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.
