Saints Won't Sign Antonio Brown Right Now
5 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team won't sign free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown "right now" after working him out on Friday. Brown's visit was more about "due diligence" at this point of the season, and the team had six receivers at their facility on Friday. Even if Brown were to sign with New Orleans this year, he'd likely be put on the commissioner's exempt list amid pending sexual-assault allegations. That means he'd be unlikely to be eligible to play in the postseason. But it's still fun to think how much better this offense could be with Brown and Michael Thomas as the top two receivers. For now, though, it'll be Thomas, Ted Ginn and Tre'Quan Smith as the team's receivers heading into Week 17 against the Panthers.
