Saints Re-Sign Safety Ugo Amadi
The New Orleans Saints announced on Monday that they re-signed safety Ugo Amadi to an undisclosed one-year deal. Amadi will return to New Orleans for a third year in 2025 after racking up a career-high 65 tackles (52 solo), his first two career sacks, six tackles for loss and seven passes defensed in 11 games (five starts) in 2024. The 27-year-old got some run late in the year out of the slot when Paulson Adebo broke his leg, and he was able to deliver for a Saints defense that really struggled last year. At the very least, Amadi will have a chance to compete for a similar role in the Big Easy in training camp this summer, but he's unlikely to emerge as a fantasy weapon in IDP leagues. The former fourth-rounder (132nd overall) by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 out of Oregon has 208 total tackles (164 solo), two sacks, 12 tackles for loss, one interception, 22 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in six seasons.

Deshaun Watson Reportedly Inactive After Clearing Concussion Protocol
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's Week 9 game against the New Orleans Saints, according to Mary Kay Cabot. Watson returned to the Week 8 game against Pittsburgh after a concussion evaluation and reported symptoms to the team's medical staff Tuesday morning. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was a limited participant Friday, when he went through individual drills. Cleveland listed him as questionable Friday, and he cleared the concussion protocol Saturday. Shedeur Sanders took the first-team reps throughout the week and will make his first start of the season, with Dillon Gabriel backing him up.

Cowboys Will be Without George Pickens on Sunday
In a surprising twist, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (hamstring) will be inactive on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Pickens was once again limited in practice all week, but the expectation was that he would suit up and play through his hamstring injury in Indy. The Cowboys were "hopeful" that the 25-year-old would play in this one, but that will not end up being the case. The good news for the Cowboys is that tight end Jake Ferguson (ankle) is active, and he could be more of an intriguing TE2 streamer for fantasy managers with Pickens officially out. Receiver Ryan Flournoy becomes a plug-and-play fantasy wideout with WR2 upside in a good matchup with the Colts as Dallas' clear No. 2 pass-catcher behind CeeDee Lamb. Pickens, who has been in trade rumors while on the franchise tag in 2026, has been underwhelming compared to his 2025 breakout season and has been in the shadow of Lamb to this point with 39 receptions for 533 yards and two touchdowns on 62 targets through eight weeks. His next chance to return will be in a Week 10 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

Vikings Expected to Sign Odell Beckham Jr. to Active Roster
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to sign a deal to join the active roster from the practice squad, according to Jordan Schultz. Beckham was elevated for the Week 5 game against New Orleans but was inactive. His Vikings debut could come Monday night at home against the Buffalo Bills, with Jauan Jennings (calf) ruled out after a limited Thursday session and no practice Friday or Saturday. Beckham has primarily worked behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in practice. Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Saturday that Jennings' spot could be a new assignment for Beckham and also discussed Tai Felton and Myles Price as options.

Chiefs Linked to Brian Thomas Jr. Ahead of Trade Deadline
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. continues to draw trade inquiries ahead of Tuesday's deadline, according to Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport. The Kansas City Chiefs have shown interest, while Jacksonville has so far resisted moving Thomas. The Jaguars have also been calling teams about defensive help after losing starting defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton and safety Eric Murray for the season. Thomas caught a 12-yard touchdown against the Colts in Week 8, his only reception over his last four games. In Thursday's win over Baltimore, he went untargeted on 19 offensive snaps, six fewer than Josh Cameron. Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers each played 38 snaps and combined for 13 of Jacksonville's 26 targets.

Bills Defense Tasked With Stopping Carson Wentz
The Bills' defense is RotoBaller's 11th-ranked unit entering Week 9, when Buffalo will meet up with the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota will send Carson Wentz onto the field for his second start of the season, as starting quarterback Kyler Murray is out with a hamstring injury. After questions to begin the year, Bass has come through with an incredible start to the year and is RotoBaller's eighth-ranked kicker this week. Bass is projected to score nine fantasy points against the Vikings, who forced three field goal attempts against the Lions a week ago. Dalton Kincaid Faces Tough Matchup
Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid enjoyed a solid performance against the Baltimore Ravens last week, but faces a tougher task in the Minnesota Vikings' pass defense this week. Minnesota limited talented Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta to just three receptions for 33 yards a week ago and will look to hold Kincaid to a similar total in Week 9. Kincaid recorded a team-high 86 yards receiving and a touchdown on four receptions during a win over the Ravens. He is RotoBaller's 13th-ranked tight end and is projected to score nine fantasy points against the Vikings, who have allowed a league-low four touchdowns through the air this season. Kincaid (chest) was questionable entering last week's game against the Ravens, but he is good to go after practicing in full the last two days of the week leading into the Vikings game.

Hunter Henry Has a "Realistic Chance" to Play in Week 9
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry (foot) has a "realistic chance" to play in Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Green Bay Packers despite being listed as questionable, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. This report is an encouraging (and perhaps surprising) development for the veteran tight end, who didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday and only practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. Having Henry available would be great news for Drake Maye and the Patriots, who will be without wide receivers A.J. Brown (knee) and Romeo Doubs (shoulder) on Sunday afternoon. It's unclear if the foot injury will limit Henry at all, but even if he's near 100%, he could be a risky play against a Packers defense that has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends so far in 2026.

Khalil Shakir Gaining Steam Entering Vikings Game
Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir got off to a slow start to the season but is starting to heat up as Buffalo faces off against a challenging Minnesota Vikings pass defense in Week 9. Shakir started the season with just eight receptions in his first three games, but over his last four contests, he has totaled 19 receptions for 260 yards and a touchdown. Shakir will now take on a Vikings secondary that has limited its opponents to a league-best -0.28 EPA per pass, according to Next Gen Stats. Last week against the Detroit Lions, Minnesota limited Detroit's shifty receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to an average of just 6.6 yards per reception. Tanner McKee Expected to be Active as Backup Quarterback in Week 9
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee (ribs) is expected to be active as the backup for Sunday's Week 9 contest against the New York Giants, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. McKee, who was demoted to the backup role earlier this week, is officially listed as questionable after suffering a cracked rib during the opening drive of last week's game against the Washington Commanders. The 26-year-old's demotion to No. 2 on the depth chart is not a result of his injury, but rather a direct product of poor play. He has two touchdowns and three turnovers this season, including all three turnovers in his last two starts. McKee was thrust into action back in Week 6 with Jalen Hurts out for the year due to blood clots. McKee went 0-3 in his time as the starter, so the Eagles will turn to Milton in a desperate attempt to save their season. The 26-year-old is known for his strong arm and mobility, but accuracy has been an issue for him in the past.

DJ Moore Hopes to Build on Solid Return
Bills wide receiver DJ Moore enjoyed a solid return from injury last week against the Ravens and will hope to build on it during a tough matchup on Monday night. Moore and the Bills take on a Vikings defense that has limited its opponents to just 154.9 yards passing per game this season, the best mark in the NFL. Sam Darnold in Jeopardy of Missing Week 10
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold (quad, rib) has already been ruled out for Week 9, and he might also miss Week 10, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Schefter points out that the Seahawks have a Week 11 bye, which could influence their decision. Instead of pushing Darnold to get ready for next Sunday's game, they could keep him on the sideline through the bye. Compared to getting Darnold back for Week 10, keeping him out next week would force him to miss just one extra game while getting an extra 14 days to recover. The Seahawks will also likely consider the net loss of having Darnold miss a game. Seattle has plenty of confidence in its backup quarterback, Drew Lock, who performed well when Darnold missed time with a glute injury in Weeks 1 and 2. If Lock plays well against the Cardinals this Sunday, the Seahawks could feel more compelled to play him next week and give Darnold the extra time to rest. There are several factors at play here, but it seems like there's a very real chance we don't see Darnold again until Nov. 29 against the 49ers.
