Once the New Orleans Saints officially hire Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their next head coach, The Athletic's Michael Silver expects Moore to have strong interest in former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley as his defensive coordinator. Moore served as Staley's offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, and Staley was the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams' No. 1 defense in 2020. In his three seasons as the Chargers' head coach, Staley was unable to make the playoffs while going 24-24. He was the assistant head coach for the San Francisco 49ers under Kyle Shanahan in 2024. In addition to Staley, the Saints are expected to be interested in Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebackers coach George Edwards for their defensive-coordinator position.--Keith Hernandez
