Ryan Webb Turns In Dominant Start For Double-A Akron
6 months agoCleveland Guardians starting pitching prospect Ryan Webb struck out seven over seven scoreless innings Thursday for Double-A Akron. The 25-year-old lowered his season ERA to 3.09 and raised his strikeout total to 60 in 64 innings pitched. The left-hander has pitched to a 2.65 ERA in three June starts with 15 punchouts in 17 innings. Webb is not one of the top 30 prospects for the Guardians, but he made a name for himself when he led the Arizona Fall League with 36 strikeouts. The fourth-round pick out of Georgia has some upside, and the Guardians organization has done wonders with churning out starting pitching talent. He is a name to monitor at Double-A in dynasty leagues.
