Ryan Preece did not have the best qualifying effort at Martinsville on Saturday. However, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver moved up 13 spots to finish ninth at the Cook Out 400. It was a great result for a car not expected to end up inside the Top 15. Preece did not come close to any stage points (14th and 19th). However, his car was good enough during the final laps to move up in the field. Tyler Reddick and even Ryan Blaney improved their position the same way.
