Defenseman Ryan Murray signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. The deal carries a $2 million AAV and is a one-way deal. The second-overall pick of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft had 14 points but failed to find the back of the net this year with the New Jersey Devils. Murray is a middle-pairing defenseman with some offensive upside. A left-handed shot, he will be filling the vacancy left by the trade of Ryan Graves to New Jersey. Murray has untapped potential as he's never been on a team with the offensive weapons the Avalanche have. He was on track for 42 points in 2018-19 while he was surrounded by all the high-scoring forwards the Columbus Blue Jackets had that year. Expect Murray to play between 18-20 minutes per night and finish the season with between 20-40 points. --Naftali Clinton - RotoBallerRead More News
