Ryan McLeod Suffers Soft-Tissue Tweak
1 year agoEdmonton Oilers center Ryan McLeod suffered a soft-tissue tweak and was held off of the ice on Thursday as a precaution. McLeod turned 24 years of age on Thursday and is coming off a season in which he posted new career-highs in goals (11), points (23), and ice time per game (14:11) despite playing in 57 games, 14 fewer than his total from his rookie season in 2021-22. A bottom-six center, the 40th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft is a valued member of the Oilers from a defensive perspective but stands well off the fantasy radar. He could, however, develop into a quality two-way pivot who could see an increase in production if he can stay healthy throughout the 2023-24 campaign.
