6/26:With Toronto Blue Jays starting pitchers Aaron Sanchez (finger) and Jaime Garcia (shoulder) both on the disabled list, the team needs to fill a void in their rotation (Marcus Stroman’s return filled one of the spots). As such, the team sounds likely to turn to Ryan Borucki for Tuesday’s game against the Houston Astros, calling him up from Triple-A Buffalo. While the Astros represent quite the test for any pitcher (and not just a pitcher making his Major League debut), Borucki has had a solid year in Triple-A. Across 13 starts and 77 innings pitched, Borucki owns a 3.27 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 58 strikeouts to 28 walks. The K/9 (6.78) and K/BB ratio (2.07) is far from ideal, but if he can put up a decent ERA, that’s all you can really ask for as a short-term rotation replacement. Borucki won’t carry any fantasy value.--John Smith
