Royce Lewis Hits Another Grand Slam
1 year agoMinnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Royce Lewis continues to have a flare for the dramatic with the bases loaded, as he hit a franchise-record fourth grand slam on Friday in the 10-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. Lewis also became the first player in MLB history with five grand slams among his first 16 career home runs. The 24-year-old went 1-for-2 in the game with four RBI, two runs scored, three walks and one strikeout. Lewis missed a lot of time due to injury this year, but he's making up for it and is now slashing .302/.365/.545 with a .909 OPS, 14 home runs, 50 RBI, six stolen bases and 34 runs scored in his 202 at-bats for the Twins. He's been hot in September, going 15-for-52 (.289) with five homers, two doubles, 21 RBI, four steals and 13 runs scored in just 14 starts.
