Royals Sign Trio To Minor-League Deals
1 year agoThe Kansas City Royals have signed utility player Mike Brosseau, right-hander Tyler Duffey, and left-hander Sam Long to minor-league contracts. Brosseau, 29, spent the 2023 season in the Brewers' organization, appearing in 29 games at the big-league level while limping to a .205 average with four home runs across 78 trips to the plate. He has primarily served as a platoon infielder versus left-handed pitching in his 244 career MLB appearances. Duffey, 32, made just one appearance in the big leagues with the Cubs in the 2023 campaign. The right-hander posted a 2.50 ERA across 58 appearances with the Twins in 2019 and largely posted quality numbers before departing for Chicago. As for Long, 28, he posted a 5.60 ERA across 40 appearances with the A's last season, locking down a pair of saves in the process.
