Robinson Chirinos Losing Playing Time
5 years agoHouston Astros catcher Robinson Chirinos has been losing playing time to newly acquired Martin Maldonado heading into the team's series opener against the White Sox. Chirinos became fantasy viable in the month of June, popping six home runs while posting a slugging percentage of .529. But he is hitting only .207 since and now has seen only 15 at-bats thus far in August. Maldonado is superior defensively and the Astros lineup is so hot right now that Maldonado's offensive limitations can be overlooked for now. Chirinos is losing fantasy value by the day and better options should be explored by fantasy owners.
