The offensive player of the game was veteran Robinson Cano, who served as the designated hitter. Cano smacked a solo home run in the second inning, quickly putting the Mets ahead. He later drilled a double in the sixth, doubling the slim lead. Eventually, New York added another two runs before emerging with a 4-0 victory.
