5 years agoHouston Rockets forward Robert Covington was dialed in against the Hornets on Saturday. His team was unable to come away with the victory, but the 29-year-old is not the one to blame for Houston's defeat. In 38 minutes of play, he scored 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting from the field and saw seven of his 13 three-point tries find the bottom of the net. Covington was also active as usual on the defensive end, as he tallied two blocks and a steal in the 108-99 loss for the Rockets. Saturday marked the second standout performance of the week for Covington, who connected on six triples versus the Knicks on Monday.--Jesse Cinquini

12 months agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (knee, illness) will remain unavailable on Thursday versus Miami. He hasn't seen any game action in 2024 and is set to miss a 45th consecutive contest. The veteran was supposed to return to action a couple of weeks back, but his recovery from a left knee injury appears to be taking more time than expected. In addition, Covington is also currently on the injury report with an illness. Nicolas Batum and Kenyon Martin Jr. have picked up extra work at the forward positions with Covington out. The two could get even more action on Thursday if Tobias Harris (knee) can't play.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (knee) is expected to return to action in three weeks' time. The veteran has struggled to overcome a left knee issue, but there's finally light at the end of the tunnel for him. Covington last played on Dec. 30 and will miss a 23rd consecutive game on Thursday when Philadelphia returns from the All-Star break with a battle against the Knicks. Covington, an All-Defensive First Team selection in 2018, hasn't played a big role with the Sixers, averaging 16.8 minutes per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (knee) will miss a 22nd consecutive contest on Wednesday versus Miami. He's dealing with a bone bruise on his left knee and hasn't taken the court since Dec. 30. It's unclear when Covington will be available again. However, with the All-Star break coming up, he will have some extra time to get healthy ahead of the next game, which isn't scheduled until Feb. 22. Playing in his 11th year in the league, Covington has averaged 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.8 minutes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (knee) hasn't played at all since the turn of the new year and that streak will continue as the team has ruled him out again for the Monday night contest against the Dallas Mavericks. He wasn't able to participate in practice either while Nick Nurse mentioned there's "not much light at the end of that tunnel," in regards to when he'll be back. There still isn't an official timetable, so only time will tell if he's able to return anytime soon or not. Marcus Morris Sr. and Kenyon Martin Jr. will continue to see minutes in the power forward spot while Covington and Nicolas Batum (hamstring) both remain out.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller
