When asked on Thursday if his current five-year term would be his last, Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said, "This is going to be my last term." Manfred's current contract is set to expire in January of 2029. He's in his 10th year as the commissioner in 2024 and has overseen a period of significant change in the game, with the pitch clock perhaps being the biggest of those changes. The move to shorten MLB games has been seen as a resounding success, but Manfred has also had his fair share of missteps, including the lockout, the inconsistent baseballs and the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal. The move to a universal designated hitter has also been among one of the more successful rule changes that has taken place under Manfred's watch.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
