Rhamondre Stevenson 2021 Player Outlook: Late Round Sleeper to Take Shot on
3 years agoThe Patriots drafted Rhamondre Stevenson in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He joins Damien Harris, James Whitein a backfield that is less crowded after the trade of Sony Michel. Stevenson is a big power back who can run between the tackles and is at his best when running downhill. He ran a 4.64 40. He has played two seasons of college ball, putting up career highs with 665 rushing yards, seven touchdowns, and 18 catches for 211 yards. That high level of play continued this preseason as he rushed for 217 yards and five touchdowns on just 30 carries. Stevenson could carve out a role for this team as their goal-line runner, but between the backfield competition and Cam Newton, there is a potential touchdown vulture. He is a late round option with upside, especially if anything was to happen to Harris. He would provide RB3 value, with higher upside if that was to happen.
