SNY's Connor Hughes reports that former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is highly unlikely to return as the head coach in 2025 and beyond. One source said there is no chance it happens. Ryan did guide the Jets to their last two playoff appearances, but it was with a team that Eric Mangini had built, and the roster began to deteriorate once Ryan took over. After their 11-5 campaign in 2010, New York didn't have a winning season under Ryan as the head coach for the next four years and were known for being one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL. In his two seasons as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, he did not make the postseason, and he hasn't coached in the league since 2016. It was always considered a long shot that Ryan would become the next Jets head coach.--Keith Hernandez
