Out since last Sunday after injuring his hand sliding into second base, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez got bad news on Saturday after an MRI revealed a hairline fracture in his left thumb. A clearer timeline won't be known until after Baez sees a hand specialist on Monday but hopes of him returning for the regular season are optimistic, at best. This is a devastating blow for the Cubs as they're losing one of their biggest bats as they continue to fight for a playoff berth down the stretch. It's also a crushing blow for his fantasy owners, as they are likely losing one of the best players during the most important time of the year.
