Redskins Hiring Ron Rivera
5 years agoThe Washington Redskins are making former Panthers coach Ron Rivera their new head coach by giving him a five-year deal, according to sources. The deal is expected to become official when the Redskins announce it on Wednesday. Rivera was one of the most coveted coaches around the league when he was let go by the Panthers this year, and it's a bit surprising that someone of his stature would go to a team that is in need of a rebuild. But Washington has a young quarterback in place (Dwayne Haskins) that Rivera can help mold, and also two impressive young receivers in Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims Jr. Rivera's biggest contribution, though, may be in rebuilding Washington's defense.
