Redskins Could Be In On Allen Robinson If He Hits Free Agency
7 years agoIf the Jacksonville Jaguars allow wide receiver Allen Robinson to hit free agency, the Washington Redskins could be interested in bringing him in to join quarterback Alex Smith and a newly revamped passing offense. A-Rob posted a ridiculous 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in a breakout 2015 campaign before being one of the biggest fantasy disappointments of 2016 and tearing his ACL in Week 1 of the 2017 season. Still, the Redskins lack a true No. 1 receiver and after the failed Terrelle Pryor experiment, they need a piece to complement slot stalwart Jamison Crowder on the outside. With quarterback Kirk Cousins's departure essentially a done deal, the 'Skins may want to placate their fan base by giving Smith all the weapons he needs to follow up the career year he posted in 2017 with Kansas City. Even with Robinson added to the fold, the Redskins probably can't match the Chiefs set of skill players, but this could close the gap. Robinson will likely be a popular bounce-back WR2 regardless of where he lands.
