Red Sox Acquire Minor-Leaguer Christian Koss
4 years agoThe Boston Red Sox acquired minor league infielder Christian Koss from the Colorado Rockies on Thursday in exchange for minor league left-handed pitcher Yoan Aybar. The 22-year-old Koss was a 12th-round pick in 2019 and was an All-Star in the Rookie-level Pioneer League in 2019. He hit .332 (63-for-190) with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, 10 steals and a 1.050 OPS in 53 games for Grand Junction. Koss made 18 starts at the hot corner, 18 at the keystone, 13 at shortstop and four as the designated hitter. Aybar, 23, signed with Boston in 2013 and started his career as an outfielder. He's gone 3-4 with a 4.45 ERA in 61 relief outings since the start of the 2018 season.
