4 months agoThe Tampa Bay Rays optioned infielder Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Durham on Saturday and recalled pitcher Jake Faria from Durham in a corresponding move. There just isn't enough room on the major league roster for Robertson now that Joey Wendle is back from his wrist injury, plus he was hitting just .205/.310/.284 with two homers and 15 RBI in 176 at-bats. Faria has thrown two scoreless innings in the big leagues this year and has a 4.22 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 in his three-year career. He'll likely mostly pitch in relief, but he could be used for spot starts here and there. Faria might not be up for long and doesn't figure to have much fantasy value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
