Raquel Pennington captured UFC's vacant bantamweight championship when she defeated Brazilian challenger Mayra Bueno Silva by unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 297. It was a strong return to the spotlight for Pennington, who lost to Nunes as a challenger in 2018 and dropped two of her next three fights before going on a six-fight win streak. Pennington survived a strong start from Silva and then pushed the pace, never giving Silva a minute to breathe. In 25 minutes of action, Pennington landed a takedown and 134 significant strikes. The win sets up a likely matchup between Pennington and Julianna Pena for the bantamweight title. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
