5 years agoThe Texas Rangers will consider third baseman Maikel Franco if Anthony Rendon signs elsewhere. Franco would be a significant downgrade from the MVP candidate, but a change of scenery to a very hitter-friendly park in Texas could be the spark that Franco needs to realize his true potential. The 27-year-old Dominican hit just .234/.297/.409 with 17 home runs and 56 RBI in 389 at-bats for the Phillies last year. The power isn't in question, but Franco must make more contact and improve his plate discipline if he is to improve moving forward.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
