Rangers Calling Up Justin Foscue
9 months agoThe Texas Rangers are calling up top prospect Justin Foscue from the minors on Tuesday, according to sources. The 25-year-old was a first-round pick (14th overall) in 2020 out of Mississippi State and can play first, second and third base. He'll fill the roster spot of third baseman Josh Jung, who suffered a broken right wrist when he was hit by a pitch on Monday. With first baseman Nathaniel Lowe (oblique) also on the injured list, Foscue should see a good amount of playing time between the two corner-infield spots, making him an immediate waiver-wire pickup in at least AL-only fantasy leagues. He hit .266/.394/.468 with 18 homers and 14 steals in 122 games with Triple-A Round Rock in 2023 and is listed as Texas' No. 5 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
