Raimel Tapia Has One More Big Night
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia is likely headed for part-time playing time now that star outfielder Charlie Blackmon is back from the Injured List, but he took advantage of one last night as a regular on Friday. Tapia went 2-for-5 with a run-scoring double and a stolen base, his first since May 1, in Colorado's 5-1 win over the Mets. Since Blackmon went on the IL, Tapia's done a pretty good job filling in, scoring 12 runs and racking up six extra-base hits in 14 games while regularly appearing on highlight reels thanks to his outstanding defensive plays. While he won't be one of the three regulars in the outfield, Ian Desmond's struggles and David Dahl's injury-prone nature should still allow Tapia to see quite a few opportunities and give him some value in deep leagues.
