Pyotr Kochetkov Starts Sunday's Tilt
2 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov will guard the crease against Vancouver on Sunday. The Russian netminder is getting his 18th start of the year and will be looking to end a three-game losing streak. Kochetkov has suddenly gone cold after looking nearly unbeatable for a long stretch. He has a 10-4-4 record for the season and boasts a 2.30 goals-against average with a .914 save percentage and three shutouts. The Hurricanes are huge favorites for the contest, but this is a tough matchup for Kochetkov, as Vancouver is averaging 3.40 goals per game. He will be backed up by Antti Raanta, with Frederik Andersen getting a rest day after beating Pittsburgh 2-1 with 34 saves on Saturday.
