Pirates Being Cautious With Francisco Cervelli
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said that the team will be even more conservative with catcher Francisco Cervelli (concussion) than in previous instances. "We’re going to take our time on this one," Huntington said. Cervelli has a long history of concussions and has been out since May 25 with his latest head injury. He's also hitting just .193/.279/.248 with a homer and five RBI in his 123 plate appearances this year, so he's no long worth holding in two-catcher leagues. Elias Diaz, who has hit well in Cervelli's absence, is now the one worth rostering in two-catcher formats while he's getting frequent playing time.
