Phillip Lindsay Leads Denver's Backfield In Week 8
4 years agoFor the second straight week, Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay outperformed teammate Melvin Gordon. Lindsay carried the ball six times for 83 yards (13.8 yards per carry) and a touchdown and added one catch on three targets for three yards in the 31-30 comeback win over the Chargers. The 26-year-old had two fewer carries than Gordon and caught five fewer passes, but he has looked like the better ball-carrier each of the last two games. Expect the two to continue splitting the workload in the backfield, but Lindsay could begin to see a larger role in the coming weeks. His touchdown on Sunday was his first of the season, but he's averaging an impressive 6.4 yards per carry on his 45 totes in 2020. He'll be an RB3/flex with upside against Atlanta in Week 9.
