Philipp Grubauer Out Week-To-Week
1 year agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (lower body) is considered week-to-week. He's already missed a pair of games and landed on Injured Reserve on Sunday. Joey Daccord has become the No. 1 in Grubauer's absence and will make a third consecutive start on Thursday versus Chicago. The 27-year-old should be in high spirits after posting his first career shutout in the previous game, and Daccord is a good option between the pipes for managers on Thursday, as the Blackhawks have averaged the second-fewest goals in the league this season (2.36).

Philipp Grubauer Day-To-Day, Ales Stezka Called Up
5 months agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he deals with an injury suffered at home. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was on the ice Friday morning, but it is enough to keep him out for at least one game. Ales Stezka was called up from the AHL and will back up Joey Daccord in Friday's game. If Grubauer's injury does end up being serious, Daccord would see a heavy workload.

Philipp Grubauer Starts For Kraken On Tuesday
6 months agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer will start Tuesday's season opener against the St. Louis Blues. He gets the nod ahead of Joey Daccord, who outplayed the German last season. Grubauer finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 14-16-2 record. He started the season with four consecutive losses and will look to avoid the same fate in 2024-25. The bookmakers have Seattle as a slight favorite for Tuesday's contest, so Grubauer appears to be in a good position to make a winning start. He boasts a 4-4-2 career record against the Blues.

Philipp Grubauer Shuts The Door On Penguins
1 year agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer kept the Pittsburgh Penguins from scoring on Thursday, finishing a 2-0 victory with 33 saves. He got to celebrate his first shutout of the campaign. It's been another season full of misery for Grubauer, but he had a great time in February, logging four wins in five appearances. The improved form has pushed Grubauer's record to 9-9-1. He has allowed 2.89 goals with a .899 save percentage. The German netminder appears to have the hot hands right now and could frustrate a few more teams in the near future.
