Philadelphia Eagles 2019 Outlook: Young Defense Looking to Improve
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles have been an often utilized defense recently for fantasy purposes. However they were one of the worst in the league in 2018, returning just 77 fantasy points. The secondary struggled with injuries and they ended up with plenty of unproven players on their roster, and the statistics reflected that. The team finished 22nd in forced turnovers and failed to register a defensive score for the first time in four seasons. Entering this season they have lost some key veterans from the interior of this defense, but their additions should bring a little more enthusiasm as they look to rebound. Currently, the Eagles defense is being drafted just outside of the starting defense range in fantasy drafts. Based on their play on the field a season ago and the progression the team should have, the Eagles will likely be utilized as a streaming option in fantasy. One thing to keep in mind with this defense is that they have a string of games early on to take advantage of, including a Week 1 matchup against the Redskins. There will be big scoring weeks, but also weeks that can bury you.
