Boston Red Sox left-handed pitching prospect Payton Tolle enjoyed another strong outing at High-A on Sunday. In this outing, Tolle tossed six innings of one-run ball against Greensboro. He allowed just five hits and one free pass. He struck out nine batters. Over his last two starts, Tolle has allowed just one run across 12 combined innings and tallied 17 strikeouts. After allowing six runs in his season (and professional) debut against Asheville, the left-hander has been quite productive. Over his last 48 innings of work, the TCU product has posted a 2.63 ERA with a 104 WHIP. During this stint, Tolle has struck out 76 batters and allowed just 11 free passes. The Red Sox selected Tolle with the 50th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft. Given his steady progression, he could earn a taste of Double-A in the second half.--Andy SmithRead More News
