Montreal Canadiens left wing Paul Byron has officially announced his retirement from the NHL. The veteran winger was already out for the entire 2022-23 season due to a hip issue, and it was expected that he would announce his retirement ahead of the new campaign. "After many months of processing what is best for my health and the future of my family, I have decided to retire as a professional hockey player," Byron wrote in a letter addressed to fans. He added that he can't train, skate, or push himself to the level required to be a professional hockey player. Byron played in 521 regular-season contests in the league and had 98 goals and 208 points, helping the Canadiens to the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals. He will continue to work for the Canadiens in the player development department.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
