3 years agoThe New England Patriots placed veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. Hopefully rookie Mac Jones wasn't around Hoyer leading up to his positive test this week. Hoyer has played in parts of four games behind Jones this year, going 6-for-7 for 164 yards and one touchdown, but there's a good chance that he'll be unavailable to back up Jones in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Hoyer doesn't clear the league's COVID protocols, Jarrett Stidham would serve as Jones' backup. Stidham, a fourth-round pick in 2919, has yet to see the field in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
