Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane is hoping to make his team debut within the next 7-10 days after signing with the club on Tuesday. The veteran is coming off hip resurfacing surgery, a procedure that has proven very difficult to recover from for professional athletes. Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde said the club will be "cautious and patient" with their prized free-agent acquisition. "I think we'll be cautious with it and get a feel on how he is with everything, too, but obviously he's eager," Lalone said. When Kane does return, he will skate on the right wing on a line with Alex DeBrincat, his former teammate with the Chicago Blackhawks, and center Dylan Larkin. Kane's hip forced a down season in 2022-23 as he slipped to 21 goals and 57 points in 73 games between the Blackhawks and New York Rangers.--Brenton KempRead More News
