2 years agoThe Colorado Rockies optioned second baseman Pat Valaika to Triple-A Saturday and replaced him with Ryan McMahon. Valaika was hitting just .120 in 75 at-bats this season, and though he's turned heads in spring training, it does not appear that he is ready for the big leagues. Valaika was really just considered a placeholder while better prospects developed, but it would be unlikely that he'll see the bigs again unless injuries arise.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
