The Carolina Panthers signed free-agent wide receiver/kick returner Andre Roberts to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday. Roberts was an All-Pro returner in three of the last four seasons and led the NFL in kickoff return yards last year with 1,010 for the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers. His 8,578 combined return yards on kickoffs and punts are the most of any player in the league since 2010. Roberts has averaged 26.0 yards per kickoff return and 8.7 yards per punt return in his career. Carolina ranked 17th in the league last year with 22.1 yards per kickoff return. The 34-year-old veteran will fill a need for the Panthers on special teams. Roberts was originally a third-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2010 out of The Citadel. He won't have any fantasy appeal for his offensive skills as a receiver.--Keith Hernandez
