Panthers Expected To Trade Or Release Donte Jackson
9 months agoThe Carolina Panthers are expected to trade or release veteran cornerback Donte Jackson, according to sources. Jackson has a $4 million roster bonus due on March 16, which would spur action. His release would save the team $5.9 million in the 2024 salary cap. The 28-year-old former second-round pick by Carolina in 2018 out of LSU has accumulated 303 tackles (248 solo), one sack, 15 tackles for loss, 14 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 46 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his six years with the Panthers. In what will be his final season with the team, Jackson contributed 59 tackles (49 solo), five tackles for loss and a forced fumble in 16 games in 2023.
