Detroit Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou pocketed a pair of goals on Saturday, scoring Detroit's only goals in a win over the Islanders. Athanasiou now has 26 goals on the season and has a chance to be the first 30-goal scorer for Detroit in almost 10 years. He also put a team-high six shots on net in 19:23 minutes of time on ice. This season has been a breakout scoring season for the 24-year-old forward, but his mediocre assist total, 18 assists in 66 games, and lack of peripheral production has limited his fantasy value. Regardless, he is a productive scorer that is more valuable in points only leagues. Detroit has few offensive difference makers, and Athanasiou will remain a focal point of their attack.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
