2 weeks agoDustin Jacoby (19-8-1) is set to return in the co-main event of UFC Louisville on Saturday against Dominick Reyes. Jacoby is coming off a competitive decision loss to Alonzo Menifield back in December as he's 1-3 in his last four. Despite coming off a loss and being 1-3 in his last four, Jacoby enters the bout as a sizeable favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,000. In the UFC, Jacoby is 7-5-1 with four wins by knockout while he's only been finished once in his UFC tenure. If Jacoby can get back into the win column against Reyes, a top-10 opponent could be next for him.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

2 weeks agoDominick Reyes (12-4) is set to fight for the first time since November of 2022 when he was knocked out by Ryan Spann. Reyes is set to return in the co-main event of UFC Louisville against Dustin Jacoby. Reyes enters the fight on a four-fight losing streak and has been knocked out in his last three fights which forced him to take time off. Entering the fight against Jacoby, Reyes is a sizeable underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,200. In the UFC, Reyes is 6-4 with four wins by stoppage while three of his four losses have come by knockout. If Reyes loses here, and especially by knockout, he could very well be released from the UFC.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

2 weeks agoDustin Poirier challenged Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title in the main event at UFC 302 on Saturday in his third bid for undisputed gold. Despite a valiant effort by Poirier, Makhachev's elite grappling proved the difference as the Russian fighter sank in a D'arce choke, forcing Poirier to submit in the fifth round. In 22:42 of action, Poirier landed 74 significant strikes. This was potentially Poirier's final opportunity to claim undisputed UFC gold as he hinted at this being his final fight. If Poirier does retire, he will exit the sport as one of the greatest, if not the best, mixed martial artists to not win an undisputed UFC title.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

2 weeks agoIslam Makhachev retained his lightweight title in a five-round thriller against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, New Jersey. On Saturday night, these two warriors put on a show that certainly lived up to the hype. Much to the surprise of many, the fight made it to the fifth round as Poirier pushed for the finish, but Makhachev managed to take him down and sink in the D'arce choke. In 22:42 of action, Makhachev landed five takedowns and 88 significant strikes. This victory marks Makhachev's third successful defense of his lightweight championship.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

2 weeks agoAfter two consecutive defeats to Michael 'Venom' Page and Jack Della Maddalena, Kevin Holland got back in the win column, earning a first-round technical submission stoppage over Michal Oleksiejczuk by gruesomely snapping his arm with an armbar in their UFC 302 contest. After a brief exchange, Holland attempted a leg kick and got dropped by a nasty left hand. In a scramble, Holland got ahold of Oleksiejczuk's arm and locked in an armbar for an extended period, seemingly breaking or dislocating Oleksiejczuk's arm, forcing Herb Dean to step in. In 94 seconds of action, Holland landed eight significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

2 weeks agoMichal Oleksiejczuk suffered a gruesome injury in a first-round technical submission loss to Kevin Holland at UFC 302 on Saturday. Oleksiejczuk caught Holland with a nasty left hand and dropped him. Holland sprawled and immediately landed an armbar. Even after Holland broke his arm, Oleksiejczuk refused to tap, making Herb Dean stop the fight. In 94 seconds of action, Oleksiejczuk landed eight significant strikes. Oleksiejczuk is now 19-8 as a pro and 7-6 in the UFC while being 1-3 in his last four fights. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

2 weeks agoElizeu Zaleski Dos Santos suffered a unanimous decision loss to Randy Brown on the main card of UFC 302 on Saturday. Zaleski dos Santos was 2-0-1 in his last three, with the draw coming in November against Rinat Fakhretdinov. He proved a tough test for Brown, who nearly got submitted in the second round. Ultimately, his effort wasn't enough, as Brown took the first and second rounds, cutting Zaleski dos Santos with knees along the way. In 15 minutes, Zaleski dos Santos landed four takedowns and 26 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoRandy Brown extended his win streak to three with a hard-fought decision win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC 302 on Saturday. Brown was coming off a first-round knockout win against Muslim Salikhov and in the first round, Brown had a ton of success outstriking 34-to-9. In the second round, however, dos Santos had nearly four minutes of control and nearly got a submission win. After dropping the second round, Brown took over in the third round as he outstruck the Brazilian 25-to-14 to get the decision win. With the win, Brown improved to 13-5 in the UFC and should get a ranked opponent next.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

2 weeks agoAlex Morono suffered a decision loss to Niko Price at UFC 302. Morono entered the fight as the betting favorite, and he had a good first round as he outstruck Price 34-to-16 and had Price in a submission attempt. However, after the first round, Morono - who took the fight on short notice - began to slow down and Price took over. Morono was outstruck in the final two rounds to drop a decision. With the loss, Morono is now 13-7 and one NC in the UFC and has alternated wins and losses in his last five fights.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoNiko Price scored a decision win over Alex Morono on the main card of UFC 302 to return to the win column. Price entered the fight as the underdog as he was 1-3 in his last four and in the first round, he struggled as Morono had him in a submission attempt. After the first round, Price took over as Morono looked to slow down as he outstruck Morono 34-to-21 in the second round and 58-to-41 in the third round to get the decision win. With the victory, Price is now 16-7 and 2 NC and is now 8-7 and 2 NC in the UFC as the win at UFC 302 likely saved his job.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoPaulo Costa suffered a split decision loss to Sean Strickland in the co-main event of UFC 302. Costa was coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker back in February and early on, Costa had success as he outstruck Strickland in the first two rounds. However, the Brazilian appeared to slow down as Strickland began to up his pressure and took over in the later rounds. Costa was outstruck in the final three rounds and was outstruck 182-to-158 over the five rounds to drop a decision. With the loss, Costa is now 14-4 as a pro and 6-4 in the UFC while being 1-4 in his last five fights. The Brazilian will likely need to fight someone ranked behind him after UFC 302.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoSean Strickland improved to 29-6 with a split decision win over Paulo Costa at UFC 302. Strickland was fighting for the first time since losing his middleweight title back in January and he used his jab to piece up Costa. As the fight went on, Strickland began to take over as he upped his volume and pressure. Strickland ended up outstriking Costa 182-to-158 as he edged out the decision win. With the victory, Strickland could be getting another crack at the UFC's middleweight title next time out.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoNext Saturday, Islam Makhachev (25-1) puts his lightweight title on the line against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 302. Makhachev cemented his position as the #1 pound-for-pound fighter with a brutal first-round knockout victory against Alexander Volkanovski in October after defeating him in a very competitive decision earlier that year. Makhachev enters the fight as the favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,500. Makhachev is 14-1 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
Share:
2 weeks agoThis Saturday in the main event of UFC 302, former interim titleholder Dustin Poirier will have what is most likely his final chance at the promotion's lightweight title. He is set to face off against UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Poirier got back in the win column in his last fight by knocking out Benoit Saint-Denis back in March at UFC 299. Heading into this fight, Poirier is a sizeable underdog, as DraftKings has him at a salary of $6,700. In his UFC career, he's averaging 81.8 fantasy points per fight.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

2 weeks agoKevin Holland (25-11) and Michal Oleksiejczuk are set to go to war this weekend at UFC 302 inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Holland is coming off consecutive losses to Jack Della Maddalena and Michael Page but remains a top draw in the organization despite only two wins in his last five outings. He enters this fight as the favorite, as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,000. Throughout his UFC career (20 bouts), he averages 70.5 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
