1 month agoThe NFL is leaving the "tush push" as a legal play for the 2024 season. NFL executive Troy Vincent said on Thursday that there will not be any proposal presented this offseason to ban the play for next season. "The Eagles," Vincent said on a conference call, "do it well." The Eagles offense ran the trending short-yardage play way more successfully than any other team in the NFL, although it will be interesting to see if that continues in 2024 after center Jason Kelce retired. The news that the league won't ban the play is excellent news for quarterback Jalen Hurts' fantasy value as an elite, high-end QB1 in fantasy, as it will continue to allow him to cash in on goal-line, tush-push touchdown sneaks.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 month agoThe Miami Dolphins' meeting with free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. went well on Thursday, according to a team source. The Dolphins were pleased with how the meeting went and hope to sign Beckham. The 31-year-old former 12th overall pick by the New York Giants in 2014 out of LSU won't return to Baltimore after he caught 35 of his 64 targets for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games (six starts) in 2023. Moving to Miami's high-scoring offense would be good for OBJ's production, but he'd still be at least a distant third on the receiving pecking order behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Beckham had five 1,000-yard seasons in his first six NFL seasons, but then the injuries hit. He'd be more intriguing from a fantasy perspective if he lands in Miami but only as a boom/bust option in deeper leagues.Source: Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

The 29-year-old has been in the NFL since 2017, spending time with the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and Houston Texans before joining the Packers in 2022. Wilson has 108 games of NFL experience on his resume and has totaled 327 tackles, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, four interceptions, and nine passes defended in his career.Source: PackersWire
1 month agoFormer Notre Dame running back Audric Estime is an intriguing prospect in this April's draft class, but his 4.71 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Combine was a concerning sign for his stock. However, NFL scouts clocked him between a 4.56 and 4.59 40-time at the school's Pro Day. While most NFL teams might rely on the laser time at the combine, his improved run can only help his status and draft value. Estime rushed 210 times for 1,341 yards and caught 17 passes for 142 yards in 2023 to go along with 18 total touchdowns in his final season with the Irish. The 221-pounder is a physical runner with burst and strength, but his speed concerns could make him fall into the late rounds next month. He will likely be a second or third-round selection in upcoming rookie dynasty drafts.Source: Ryan Roberts
1 month agoThe Detroit Lions released cornerback Cam Sutton on Thursday, the team announced on X. According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Sutton has been sought for two weeks by police in Florida to answer for domestic violence allegations. The 29-year-old was originally a third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 and spent his entire career there before being signed by Detroit last season. It appears he will need to go through the legal process, and the serious allegations against him have the potential to end his time on the gridiron.Source: Albert Breer
1 month agoFree-agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds is visiting with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old had one of the best seasons of his career last year with the Detroit Lions, racking up 40 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns. Reynolds was originally a fourth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, and outside of five games with the Tennessee Titans in 2021, he has spent his entire career with quarterback Jared Goff. Overall, the Texas A&M product has 220 receptions for 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns through his first 107 NFL games. The Ravens are looking to upgrade from what Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman gave them at wideout last year, so Reynolds makes sense as a potential WR2 or WR3 for Lamar Jackson.Source: Adam Schefter
1 month agoThe Washington Commanders announced on Thursday that they have signed free-agent cornerback James Pierre to an undisclosed deal. Pierre entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic in 2020 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent the last four seasons in the Steel City. The 27-year-old defensive back has a total of 94 tackles (71 solo), two interceptions, eight passes defended, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 66 total games (two starts) for the Steelers. Pierre has mostly contributed on special teams so far in his NFL career and will likely continue to do the same as he moves to D.C. and the NFC in 2024.Source: Washington Commanders
1 month agoThe New England Patriots and former Atlanta Falcons/Los Angeles Chargers safety Jaylinn Hawkins agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Hawkins' deal qualifies for the veteran salary benefit. If he makes the team, he would be paid a base salary based on his credited seasons (four) but count less on the salary cap. The 26-year-old was a former fourth-round pick by the Falcons in 2020 out of California and spent last year with both the Falcons and Chargers, finishing with 14 tackles (six solo) in 16 games (three starts). He will operate as a depth option for New England's secondary in 2024 behind Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger. In his five-year NFL career, Hawkins has 135 tackles (72 solo), half a sack, four interceptions, 10 passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in 58 games (25 starts).Source: ESPN Boston - Mike Reiss
1 month agoFree-agent offensive guard Josh Jones signed an undisclosed deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Jones will head to Baltimore to give the Ravens more offensive line depth after spending the 2023 campaign with the Houston Texans, where played in 13 regular-season games (three starts). The 26-year-old was a third-round selection (72nd overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 out of Houston and spend the first three years of his NFL career in the desert with the Cardinals. In his four years in the league, Jones has started 24 of the 60 games that he's appeared in. Jones will most likely be serving as a backup at left guard in Baltimore behind Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu and Andrew Vorhees.Source: Baltimore Ravens
1 month agoThe New York Giants restructured defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence's contract on Thursday to free up some 2024 salary cap space. The move freed up $7.5 million in cap space for the team by converting $10 million of Lawrence's base salary this year into a signing bonus. The 26-year-old earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2023 with the Giants by recording 53 tackles (32 solo), 4.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and 21 QB hits in 16 starts. The elite defensive lineman signed a four-year, $87.5 million deal with the G-Men last year and has spent the first five seasons of his NFL career in the Big Apple after the Giants took Lawrence with the 17th overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Clemson.Source: NJ Advance Media - Darryl Slater
1 month agoArizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort acknowledged that the team is "open for business" when it comes to the No. 4 overall pick in next month's NFL draft. Ossenfort expects talks for the No. 4 overall pick to ramp up at next week's annual league meeting and is willing to listen to any and all offers. In a quarterback and wide receiver-rich draft the Cardinals are sure to garner plenty of interest from other teams looking trade up. Kyler Murray is locked in as Arizona's starting quarterback, but the Cardinals have been linked as a candidate to take a receiver in many mock drafts, so if they stay put at No. 4, they could take Ohio State wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. Along with receiver help, the Cardinals need interior offensive-line help as well as additions along their defensive line.Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon
1 month agoFree-agent safety Julian Blackmon is visiting with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, according to sources. Blackmon has several suitors this offseason after enjoying a career season in 2023 with the Indianapolis Colts, which included 88 tackles (65 solo) five tackles for loss, four interceptions, eight passes defended and two fumble recoveries in 15 starts. He finished as the No. 26 defensive back in IDP fantasy leagues in his fourth year in the NFL after the Colts took him in the third round (85th overall) in 2020 out of Utah. The 25-year-old missed the final two games of the year due to a shoulder injury and was a big part of the Colts' defensive success last year. Blackmon is still a candidate to re-sign with the Colts, but he's drawing plenty of interest around the league.Source: Bleacher Report - Jordan Schultz
1 month agoFormer New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell reached an agreement on an undisclosed one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, according to sources. Campbell had a career-high 623 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 63 receptions in his fourth and final year with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022 before joining the Giants in 2023. He disappointed with the G-Men, catching only 20 of 27 targets for 104 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games (three starts) last year. The 26-year-old former second-round pick by the Colts in 2019 out of Ohio State will head to Philadelphia and could start out of the slot for the Eagles in 2024 behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Still, with tight end Dallas Goedert heavily involved as a pass-catcher in this offense, Campbell will be the team's fourth receiving option, at best.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 month agoThe Washington Commanders announced on Wednesday that they signed free-agent defensive end Clelin Ferrell to an undisclosed deal. Ferrell was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 in the first round (fourth overall) out of Clemson and spent his first four years with the Black and Silver before recording 28 tackles (15 solo), 3.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, 13 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 17 regular-season starts in 2023 with the San Francisco 49ers. The 26-year-old wasn't available for the team's Super Bowl run due to a knee injury, but he should be healthy for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall in D.C. Ferrell will provide defensive-line depth for the Commanders after producing 133 career tackles (73 solo), 13.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 45 QB hits, 12 passes defended, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 75 games (47 starts) over his five NFL seasons.Source: Commanders.com
1 month agoFree-agent wide receiver River Cracraft announced on social media that he re-signed an undisclosed deal with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. Cracraft will return to Miami in 2024 for his third year with the team. In the last two seasons in South Beach, he had 18 receptions on 26 targets for 223 yards and three touchdowns in 21 regular-season games (one start) while providing receiver depth behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Erik Ezukanma. The 29-year-old has had his share of injuries as well and will be completely off the fantasy radar this fall. Cracraft entered the NFL in 2018 with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State and has 25 career catches for 308 yards and three scores on 37 targets in his six NFL campaigns.Source: River Cracraft
