Packers Sign David Bakhtiari To Record Extension
4 years agoThe Green Bay Packers signed All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari to a four-year contract extension worth up to $105.5 million on Sunday, according to a source. It makes Bakhtiari the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history. The base value of the deal is $103.5 million with another $2 million in incentives and a $30 million signing bonus. The total cash-flow amount is $37.052 million in the first year and $64.5 million in the first three years. The new-money average of $23 million is a record for an offensive lineman. The 29-year-old was a fourth-round pick in 2013, and he's been either a first- or second-team All-Pro in each of the last four years. It's great news for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who should have Bakhtiari protecting his blind side for however long he remains the QB.
