Pablo Lopez 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Looking to Bounce Back From Injury-Plagued 2025 Season
Minnesota Twins right-handed pitcher Pablo Lopez had an injury-riddled 2025 season, dealing with a shoulder injury that caused him to miss June, July, and August. He returned in September and made three starts for the Twins, and all reports indicate he is healthy for the 2026 season. Lopez had an excellent 2.74 ERA and 1.11 WHIP to go along with 73 strikeouts in 75 2/3 innings pitched. While his strikeout percentage was a bit lower than in the previous two seasons, he made up for it with an excellent ERA. Lopez made 32 starts in his previous three seasons leading up to 2025, and should be on pace to throw 170+ innings if he remains healthy. Lopez has excellent control and command, evident by his 35.3 percent hard hit rate (86th percentile), 6.0 percent barrel percentage (83rd percentile), 6.4 percent walk rate (76th percentile), and 112 Location+. While his stuff isn't as electric as some of the top-tier arms, he is a pitcher with a safe floor and can work deep into games. Currently, Fangraphs Roster Resource has Lopez as the Twins' No. 1 pitcher, ahead of Joe Ryan and Bailey Ober. RotoBaller currently ranks Lopez as SP37, while NFBC ADP has him going 138.0 overall. Fantasy managers looking for a reliable starting pitcher in the middle of drafts should look Lopez's way.
