Oswald Peraza To Join The Yankees
4 months agoWith New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. (elbow) expected to land on the 10-day injured list, infielder Oswald Peraza is being called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, according to sources. Chisholm, who was acquired from the Miami Marlins at the trade deadline at the end of July, suffered a UCL injury on Monday and could require surgery, which would most likely keep him out the rest of the season. He had been serving as the starting third baseman, so his injury will open up playing time for Oswaldo Cabrera and DJ LeMahieu moving forward. Peraza could also see time at the hot corner in the Bronx, although he'll probably be more of a bench option in New York. The 24-year-old hasn't played in the big leagues yet in 2024 and was hitting .244/.351/.382 with eight homers, 37 RBI and 17 steals in 65 games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
