Oswald Peraza Going For X-Rays After Rolling Ankle
2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that rookie shortstop Oswald Peraza (ankle) is going for X-rays after rolling his ankle during a stolen-base attempt in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The Yankees are unsure yet on whether Peraza will require a stint on the injured list, and we probably won't know more until Thursday morning. The 22-year-old middle infielder was injured as a pinch-runner in Wednesday's game. With Anthony Volpe winning starting shortstop duties to begin the 2023 campaign, Peraza has played in only 11 games so far and has struggled with the bat to the tune of a .188 average (6-for-32) with a double, three RBI, a stolen base and four runs scored in 38 plate appearances.
