Orelvis Martinez Has Four Hits, Homers Twice At Low-A
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays prospect Orelvis Martinez went 4-for-5 with two home runs on Wednesday at the Low-A level. The 19-year-old now has 11 home runs through 55 games this season — his first full year in pro call after breaking in at the Rookie ball level in 2019. He's tied for fourth in Low-A ball in home runs. Overall, he has a 133 wRC+ plus but his strikeout rate is excessive at 27%. However, it's not a huge red flag yet given the power he's provided, his age, and the lack of games in 2020. Martinez is ranked by Rotoballer as the 46th-best prospect for dynasty baseball. He could become a must-have prospect within a year if he continues to develop on his current path.
